The Top 5 Ad Tricks to Seduce Your Prospects Into Action

First, I strongly suggest you read the free article, The Top 5 Ways to Send Your Ad Response Plummeting. It's crucial that you understand what NOT to do, before you can write an ad that virtually forces your reader to respond.

And after you've check out those five crucial tips, come back here for five more important tactics that can turn ANY suicide marketing mission into a BONA FIDE success.

BONA FIDE SUCCESS TACTIC #1

Don't use credibility-crushing phrases like "This is NOT a scam!" If it's not, you shouldn't need to point that out.

This declaration is coming from an anonymous advertiser -- not my favorite publisher. I'm not so gullible as to take a stranger at his word, and neither are your prospects. Instead, use that ad space to BUILD your ad's credibility.

For instance, you might say something like:

"Featured as business opportunity of the year in HomeBizMag for two years in a row!"

 Or...

"Highly recommended by Terry Dean, Dan Kennedy, and Ken Evoy, in 2003!"

If your opportunity is featured in a highly prestigious magazine or endorsed by a high profile marketer, it's lots more likely to generate a buzz than with an ad denying that it's a scam. I mean, come on ... which one would YOU visit first?

BONA FIDE SUCCESS TACTIC #2

Focus on targeting the RIGHT audience for your ad.

Don't try to use deceitful shock value to get your ad noticed. It'll just backfire, resulting in people no longer trusting your recommendations, because you used trickery to get 'em to visit your site.

If you use this underhanded technique, you'll end up with a lot of hits to your site, but virtually NO SALES.

Instead, make sure your ad describes your exact target audience to the letter. This way, you'll end up with a lower number of hits to your site, but a MUCH higher SALES RATIO, because people came to your site for a particular purpose that you *delivered on* once they got there.

For instance, you might say something like:

Attention: Website Owners, Affiliates, And Marketers ON A BUDGET...

BONA FIDE SUCCESS TACTIC #3

Only use all caps when stressing important points in your ad. Remember -- an ad in all caps is both rude AND hard to read.

Again, take a look at the sample ad above.

Notice how I only put *part* of the headline in all caps to make sure that was the part of the ad that caught the attention of my target audience?

Use all caps sparingly, and to make the most important parts of your ad STAND OUT.

BONA FIDE SUCCESS TACTIC #4

Use excitement-generating words and symbols to have your readers salivating for more, and replace a few periods with exclamation points (in moderation!).

For instance, instead of this:

"Subscribe to ABC Ezine for the best freeware, tutorials, and references on the web, for those with no advertising budget. Delivered to your inbox weekly."

Try THIS:

"ARE YOU BROKE? Let ABC ezine find YOU the best FREE business software and "how-to" tactics -- each week!

Better, huh? ;-)

BONA FIDE SUCCESS TACTIC #5

Talk about how your product will enhance your prospects' lives make their work easier, make them money, make them beautiful, etc.

Don't waste time telling them how your gadgets work and why they work that way. Make your *target audience* understand EXACTLY how your product or service will benefit them, and your ads will go a long way.

For instance, instead of:

Our knives are made with 100% TITANIUM, designed for extra long use. Guaranteed durable or your money back!

You might say:

You'll never have to sharpen OR replace your knives again ... or we'll replace them for you, FREE! Lifetime guarantee!

Notice also how the second ad makes YOU (the prospect) the focus of the copy, while the first ad makes the product (knives) and the company ("our" knives) the focus.

Big no-no!

Remember ... your prospects could care less about YOU, or even exactly WHO or WHAT is helping them. They just want to know that what you offer CAN help them, and HOW it will help.

If you can get that message across clearly in your ad copy, so long as your product is useful, you'll never want for money or prospects again.
